Nature, Art, and Gastronomy come together in a unique space.
The fine artwork ‘Rumor sin Límites V’ by the Basque artist Eduardo Chillida, can now be enjoyed at the Abadía Santa María de Retuerta, a 5-star hotel, and winery located in the Vallisolietano town of Sardón de Duero, where SIT Spain has moved this work and which is now consolidated as an art destination by incorporating this unique piece. The specialized transport has been carried out thanks to our vehicles equipped with climate control systems that allow continuous control of weather conditions during transport, as well as fire detection and extinguishing by NOVEC® non-polluting fluid (harmless to people and works of art), and real-time tracking system (GPS tracking via mobile app). In addition, the bodies are isometric with safety panels and all vehicles have alarm systems and high-security locks for a guaranteed safe transport.
As for the sculpture, it is a piece sculpted in steel measuring 93x65x83cm and made by Chillida in 1959, a work that adds to the natural and artistic heritage offered by the new experiential destination. A place that has been chosen by the Chillida Leku Museum for the perfect connection established between the Abadía de Retuerta space and the work of its artist. The sculpture ‘Rumor sin Límites V’ was one of the last works created in Eduardo Chillida’s workshop and was made in his free time, during the hours when the blacksmith was not working. The work belongs to a series of 10 sculptures and where the question of the limit is born in this series as a fundamental theme to which Eduardo Chillida dedicated a deep reflection: the limit is the true protagonist of space, as the present, another limit, is the true protagonist of time.
The Chillida Leku Museum joins the list of collaborators of the Abadía Retuerta space in its commitment to art. Together with nature and wellness, they make this complex a benchmark for unique experiences. 700 hectares of vineyards and more than 8,000 m2, which make it a destination to enjoy wellness. Or simply, an artistic environment in which to enjoy works such as the recently incorporated “Rumor sin Límites V” by the artist Eduardo Chillida.
