On Monday 31st January, Tuesday 1st and Wednesday 2nd February, SIT Spain carried out the incredible transfer of the works of the Focus Foundation. These pieces were located in the facilities of the company Abengoa in Seville and were moved to the University of Loyola in Dos Hermanas (Seville).
One of the most significant moves was that of four sculptures consisting of interlocking rectangles. In order to move them, a special lorry had to be used and in some cases they had to be dismantled in order to transport them to their new destination.
The sculptures are made of cast corten steel and have large dimensions. Some of them are even up to five metres high. These marvelous works were made between 2008 and 2010 by Gustavo Torner (Cuenca, Spain 1925), a Spanish painter and sculptor who was part of the so-called “Escuela Conquense”, which was one of the first initiatives to introduce the new currents of modern art in Spain. Together with Fernando Zóbel, he collaborated in 1966 on the foundation and design of the Museum of Spanish Abstract Art in Cuenca.
This work meant 3 days of arduous dedication, not only because of the weight of the sculptures, but also because of their value. Our team not only provided their complete dedication, exigency, and care but also all their experience in these services, leaving once again a mark of quality on the part of the leading company in the assembly and transport of works of art.
