6 Tips for Assembling and Dismantling Furniture During a Move
Moving can be a laborious process, and one of the most complex parts can be assembling and disassembling furniture.
We want to give you some tips for assembling and disassembling furniture during your move:
1-Analyse which furniture you want to move
Depending on the type of furniture you have, you may want to move some or all of it to the new house. Furniture that is in very good condition is likely to be in good condition, but perhaps some old furniture, or even furniture that does not fit in with the new aesthetics of the house, you are not interested in taking with you, and it is better to sell or donate it.
2-Photograph the furniture
Photographing the different parts of the furniture, such as the doors, the shelves or the areas where the screws go will help you to assemble it much faster. For this reason, we recommend that you have these photographs and plan well how you are going to dismantle each piece of furniture and how you are going to assemble it afterwards.
3-Measure doors and furniture
Furniture that fits neatly through doors and corridors should not be dismantled. In such cases, you will save a lot of time. But you should make sure that they will not fit into any part of the house by measuring the height, width and length of each piece of furniture.
4-Prepare the tools you are going to use
We recommend that you have the right tools on hand for dismantling each type of furniture. You will need a complete set of screwdrivers to remove the screws and a complete set of spanners for the nuts, as well as other complementary tools.
5-Store the pieces in small bags and number them.
If you want to reassemble the furniture quickly, you should store each piece in an orderly fashion. You can use post-it notes to indicate which piece of furniture each piece belongs to. You should do the same with the screws for each piece of furniture. Write down on the screw bags which piece of furniture each one belongs to.
